The PhD Council is the governing body for the students in the biomedical engineering department at JHU. We gather student input on departmental proceedings and organize regular events for PhD students and faculty of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. These events include sports tournaments, hiking and sailing outings, departmental picnics, the PhD Retreat, summer student seminars, and many more. Details for the upcoming school year can be found on the Proposed Events page. Details on using our website, which contains a plethora of resources about life as a grad student in Baltimore, can be found below.
The BME PhD Council has the following goals:
- to provide reports from the BME Committee and Primary Faculty Meeting student representatives,
- to give the collective doctoral student body a unified voice in departmental affairs, and
- to generate a closer sense of community among the PhD students.
